1995 Saab 9000 Aero 5 Speed
This 1995 Saab 9000 Aero is finished in Black (170) over Charcoal Leather (K35) and was originally purchased at Bay Saab in Virginia by the President of Anders-Williams, a commercial freight business. The car has been with the current owner in New Jersey for three years. It’s powered by a 225hp DOHC 2.3-liter Turbocharged inline-four and is mated to a desirable 5-speed manual gearbox. Now showing 171,500 miles, this factory Non- TCS Aero 9000 is being offered by the son of the owner with a clean Pennsylvania title.
Originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and head Saab designer Björn Envall, the 9000 is based on the Type Four platform shared with the Lancia Thema, the Alfa Romeo 164 and the Fiat Croma. The distinctive Aero model sports the 16 inch wheels on sports suspension, exterior details include a color matched body kit with a factory rear spoiler. The seller notes that the vehicle wears '98 exposed lug Super Aeros and both center cap varieties will be provided along with a Yakima bike rack.
The interior of the Aero features Recaro designed sports seats. The Charcoal leather (K35 code) seats are heated and 8 way power adjustable. The cabin also includes Automatic Climate Control, factory CD and cassette player and a center display. The interior is appointed with the factory wood dash and a power sunroof. The seller notes that the seats are worn but are not ripped; the air conditioning blows cold and the only non-functioning accessory is the cruise control.
The 225hp 2.3 (B234R) is said to run strong with recent and routine maintenance. In the last year the vehicle has received a new Genuine Saab stainless steel exhaust line, steering wheel bushings, a recharged Air Conditioning system and a new battery. The work was performed at Greico Brothers, a Saab specialist garage in New Jersey.
The seller notes in 2012 at 132K, the previous owner, (a Saab technician) replaced the head gasket and bolts. At the same time the transmission was changed along with a new clutch, master cylinder and right side driveshaft.
Underside photos have been included in the listing.
The cars comes with a binder full of service records from new, original owner’s manual and extra spare parts including an extra radio, center caps and extra trim pieces.
